Waste Minimisation & Management

Demolition 1 Ltd prides itself on playing its part in ensuring waste on each project is reduced as much as possible, and what cannot be re-used or recycled is managed in a safe and environmentally sound way.

We comply with the Resource Management Act and local council specifications for waste management.

In a typical house demolition the following material is recycled: roof tiles, roofing iron, bricks, concrete (crushed into aggregate and steel removed for recycling), fibreglass batts, gib board, window glass, native and non-native framing timber and flooring, weather boards, internal and external doors, timber beams, steel beams, copper and steel pipes, electrical wiring (apart from plastic coating), stainless steel sinks, taps etc, hot water cylinders.

We take a similarly comprehensive approach on our larger scale commercial projects.

The keys to successful waste minimisation are how well your staff have been trained and good supervision of staff. Understanding and communication of company methodology in this regard is essential and something the company takes seriously.

Effective demolition and recycling more often than not depends on the ability to be innovative and to think outside the square. Our waste methodology can be summed up effectively as:

WE DEMOLISH. WE RECYCLE. WE RE-USE.
